Events

Since the publication of MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN in 2005, I have given readings, lectures, and presentations in Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, New York, and Massachusetts, in addition to making appearances at the Virginia Festival of the Book and the Southern Kentucky Book Fest. I have appeared at bookstores, educational institutions (public schools, colleges, and universities), libraries, book clubs, senior centers, and historical societies.

I have spoken about the process of doing historical research and how to write nonfiction. I have discussed the life and work of the writer Susan Glaspell. I have talked about my research into the 1932 baseball season--specifically about baseball collectibles, Babe Ruth as an iconic figure in American culture, the Chicago Cubs memorable 1932 season, Babe Ruth's called shot in the 1932 World Series, and the incredible true story of Harry Hortman and Charles Ireland--a prison lifer and a prison warden--whose friendship brought them together for a trip to Wrigley Field to watch the World Series.

If you would would like me to speak or read at a school, bookstore, lecture series, conference, or other event, please contact me.
